There is now a truly memorable way to arrive at The Samling.

Boating in the Lake District is a truly magical way to explore this beautiful corner of England. Take to the water and experience dramatic views across the mirror like lake, flanked by the colourful fellside reflecting the many colours of the seasons, from blossom filled meadows to snow capped peaks. With the refurbishment of the Jetty at The Samling we are delighted to introduce the perfect stop off for some lunch, afternoon tea or perhaps a night on dry land. Damaged in the storms of 1992, the Jetty at has now been rebuilt and is ready to dock sail boats.

Our sailing guests are invited to sail across Lake Windermere and tie up at The Samling, where you will be met by the Jetty team. From there you will be escorted up the original stones stairs, across to the entrance of The Samling and then driven the short distance up the winding drive to the hotel.

Here you can relax in the 65 acres of rolling meadowlands, ornamental water gardens, ancient woodlands and the productive kitchen gardens, maybe take a walk up to The Gathering for a laid back lunch overlooking the lake, or perhaps check into one of the 12 exquisite rooms for a night off the water.

Enjoy a cocktail at The Reverie before dinner in The Samling’s celebrated restaurant overlooking Lake Windermere, where Executive Chef Robby Jenks creates memorable menus from the very best seasonal and local produce.
