The Samling Hotel Retains Michelin Star in 2016 Guide

The Samling Hotel near Ambleside in Cumbria has retained its Michelin Star in the 2016 guide, which was released yesterday.

The 11-bedroomed hotel was first awarded a star in 2013 and has retained it every year since.  The Samling joined L’Enclume as Cumbria’s only Michelin Star restaurants in this year’s guide.

General Manager Alasdair Elwick commented “We are delighted to have retained our Michelin Star. The award is testament to the team’s hard work and dedication over the past twelve months”.

“We are however always aiming to push our offering forward. Our growing operation and development kitchen provide the cornerstone for our cuisine development.  Much of what you now see on the menu is now grown at the hotel, offering incredibly fresh produce each day.  I cannot thank the owners enough for all the support they have shown us.”

The hotel offers diners three dinner menu’s including an a la carte, gourmand and prestige.  Next week the hotel will be launching a restaurant in Harvey Nichols, Leeds as part of a two day celebration.

Alasdair went on “This year has been a record year for the hotel. To have retained a Michelin Star towards the end of it is just fantastic.”
