Suites

Four luxurious suites set around the grounds, a short distance from the main house. Each has its own individual style and feel to it, often making the choice between them all the more difficult.

Lethera
Not your average hotel room this one! Set over three floors this suite is something special. On the ground floor is the bathroom which makes heavy use of natural raw materials such as wood and stone to give a ‘log cabin’ feel. The bathroom features a large sunken bath and separate walk-in shower complete with water jets.

Up a short flight of stairs one then reaches the middle level which houses the lounge. This is decorated with cream on the walls and a soft grey sofa opposite the large stone fireplace. The main feature of the lounge is of course the large picture window facing southwest, providing natural light in abundance and perfect for catching the sun.

The top level is the bedroom and this takes the form of a balcony in the eaves. A skylight provides more light as well as a view to the woodlands.

Hovera
Another of the cottage suites set on three floors in a similar style to the Lethera. The bathroom on the ground floor, again with large sunken bath and walk-in shower, is decorated in rust and gold with redwood beams.

The lounge on the intermediate level has a distinctly warm autumnal feel to it, being decorated in cream and gold and fitted out with a settee and red armchairs around the large fireplace.

The top level houses the balcony containing the double bedroom.

Manmire
Located at the top of our estate this large cottage is set on two floors and has its own private patio overlooking the lake. The ground floor of the cottage consists of the nautical-themed living room and an adjoining conservatory dining area. The fireplace is set into the thick slate wall, which helps ensure that the room is warm and homely. The en-suite bathroom is also located on the ground floor and is well appointed.

Upstairs is the balcony bedroom with wrought iron railings, giving a more open feel. The skylights in the sloping ceiling above add to the airy feel of the bedroom. The bed in this room is a king-size double which can be divided to make two singles.

The Bothy
This suite is actually a cottage all to itself, located close to the main house and overlooking both the gardens and the lake. Inside there is a spacious bedroom with rough cast walls, shuttered windows and curtains. The bed is a king-size double that can be divided to form two singles. Also accessible from the bedroom is the private garden patio and its stunning outlook over the water to the south.

The living room is set in a conservatory which is a real suntrap in the summer months, and features a cream sofa and matching armchairs. The room also incorporates a fireplace for those times when the weather is not so clement! The private patio can also be accessed from the conservatory.

Perhaps the most striking feature of The Bothy sits in the African-themed bathroom with its twin basins; a Victorian bath and shower unit reputed to have once been that of Winston Churchill.
