Directions

Location:
We are three and a half hours from London and one and a half to two hours from Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow.  There is a also a helipad in the grounds which our residents are more than welcome to use with prior arrangement. The nearest airports are Carlisle, Liverpool, and Manchester.  The nearest train station is Oxenholme which is situated on the edge of Kendal approx 15 miles from the hotel, however you can get a local train connection to Windermere station.

By Road
Leave the M6 at Junction 36 (South Lakes/Kendal). At the large roundabout, take the exit onto the A591 and continue on the main road through Windermere heading towards Ambleside. Approximately three miles after Windermere, you’ll see the lake on your immediate left and The Low Wood hotel on your right. About three hundred yards further on is a sharp bend, indicate right when you see the road sign showing this bend. The entrance to The Samling is a very steep driveway on your right: continue up it and bear right to park at the front of the front of the house. Please do not attempt to turn left up our drive if you are travelling from the Ambleside direction.
